Miniature Stainless steel solenoid valves are small compact light weight flow control valves manufactured from either 304 or 316 stainless steel. These compact 2/2 and 3/2 way little flow control valves are typically 1/8", 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2" BSP or NPT threaded and will have options for NBR, EPDM, FKM, FFKM, PTFE and Silicone elastomer sealing, offering working pressures ranging from vacuum up to 500 bar or more, depending on model and manufacturer.
Zero Rated Stainless steel solenoid valves.
Zero rated 2/2 way stainless steel solenoid actuated valves are designed to operate from zero pressure, sometimes referred to as direct acting, hung diaphragm, assisted lift, assisted open or close and even kick pilot. This design allows for the valve to positively open and or close when actuated and does not require any guaranteed pressure difference across the valve to function, making these ideally suited to low pressure systems, gravity fed systems, closed loop systems and generally any application where pressure differences are simply either unknown or unstable. Typical port sizes available from most manufacturers and suppliers range from miniature 3/8 BSP or NPT thread through to 2" BSP or NPT thread with options for flange PN16, ANSI150Lb or JIS10K typically by a pre order basis. Sealing options would generally include NBR, EPDM, FKM (also known as Viton®) and Silicone are common with special sealing such as FFKM available from some valve suppliers.
Pressure assisted stainless steel solenoid valves.
Pressure assisted 2/2 way stainless steel electric solenoid valves are designed to utilise the pressure difference across the valve ports by means of an internal hydraulic or servo circuit to move the internal sealing piston or diaphragm, sometimes called pilot operated valves, servo assisted valves, floating diaphragm or piston valves or even internal hydraulic operated electric valves. This design allows for the valve to operate with a smaller less energy consuming solenoid coil, are ideally suited for high pressure applications and are typically less expensive than a zero rated valve size for size. Ideal applications include open to atmosphere and high pressure systems. Most manufacturers and valve agents will offer port sizes ranging from 3/8" thread through to 2" BSP or NPT thread with options for PN16, ANSI150lb and JIS10K.

2/2 and 3/2 way function valves with either direct acting or pressure assisted piston or diaphragm design are well suited for most general purpose, air, water, vacuum, light oil, Demin water, pure water, RO (reverse Osmosis) water systems and many slightly aggressive media's (such as slight acid or alkali) and steam.
Most voltages available would include 12v, 24vDC, 48vDC, 110vDC, 220vDC or 12vAC, 24vAC, 48vAC, 110vAC, 230vAC, 240vAC, 380vAC and 425 volt AC for safe area use or ATEX EExmIIT4 for hazardous area applications with options for stainless steel solenoid valves with flame proof ATEX EexdIICT6 enclosures.
