Brass Solenoid Valve 2/2 Way Normally Open.Brass 2/2 way normally open solenoid valves or fail-safe open solenoid valves will default to the open position allowing the flow of media, these 2-way n/open valves will only close when electrical power is applied.
Generally normally open solenoid valves are stocked in sizes from 3/8 up to 3" BSP thread including miniature brass solenoid valves 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2" BSP.
Brass 2/2 way normally open pressure or servo assisted solenoid valves require a pressure differential or difference in pressure between inlet pressure and the outlet pressure (back pressure) above 0.3 to 0.5 bar depending on model and manufacturer, typically available between 3/8" BSP though to 3" BSP thread, with options for NBR, EPDM and FKM sealing across most voltages. These pilot or servo pressure assisted valves are ideally suited to open to atmosphere systems and high pressure systems. size for size pressure assisted valve are cheaper than direct acting or zero rated valves.
Brass hung diaphragm valves also known as assisted close, zero rated and direct acting 2/2 way normally open brass solenoid valves will operate from zero pressure differential, i.e. will function with or without pressure differences and are generally available from port sizes from 3/8" through to 2" BSP or NPT thread, seal options NBR, EPDM or FKM, however flanged solenoid valves typically a pre order item from most valve suppliers and manufacturers. Zero rated fail open brass solenoid valves are ideally suited to closed loop systems, gravity fed systems and low pressure systems. 3/2 way normally open solenoid valves are designed to divert flow to or from a piped system such as a cylinder or valve actuator, typical 3 port 2 position valves are available with NBR, FKM, EPDM, Silicone, FFKM or PTFE seals to suit most non aggressive non corrosive applications such as vacuum, air, water, steam, light oil or any other suitable non corrosive non aggressive fluids or gases.
